Indipendent thinking, staying away from chiché.
That’s a good intention, often easier to be said than done. At the end, to translate it in practical actions, you need courage, open mind and a lot of sleeves roll-up. On the long term this choice is usually awarding, putting the brand in a distinguishing position with regards to spirit and innovation.
A good example is the story I’m about to tell. Lorenz, the italian brand founded in 1934, recently released a new version of its “Professional Divers”, the Full Titanium with solid 42 mm titanium case, full ceramic bezel and a nice selection of bezels and dial colors. A very interesting line that I’ve already tested in the past with the Lorenz Submariner Professional.

Review Lorenz Diver Professional Full Titanium Automatic
A nice diving watch with a sporty looking, highly appreciated from the market. Can be declined in many different executions. On the mechanical side, Seiko automatic movement. The most important point of this new model is the material: is fully made in titanium. The other technical specifications are the one-way turning bezel, in polish black ceramic with luminous numbers to calculate the dive time. The exclusive titanium bracelet with sport safety buckle that can be easily adjusted around the wrist.
Very good quality finishing with rounded corners and surfaces. Details that we can appreciate on the carrure of the watch, in the horns and on the crown protectors. On top of the titanium bracelet this model comes with a rubber band and a classic buckle in order to easily fit the watch over the diving suit. Lorenz has decided to choose the titanium not only for its weight (40% lighter comparing to steel) but also due to its high resistance to corrosion created by marine salt water.
The case is water resistant to 20 atm and the whole watch is in grey solid matt titanium, a special material for a 42 mm case, 14 mm height and lug to lug distance of approximately 50mm. Titanium is also anallergic and very light. Its weight is around 120 grams with metal bracelet and 90 grams with rubber band. You hardly feel it on your wrist.
With regards to the movement, it is an automatic Seiko NH35, 24 rubis, balance wheel with 21.600 vibrations per hour, stop-seconds function, two ways winding rotor and 41 hours power reserve.
The dial, protected by a sapphire crystal, is the signature of the brand. Very clean, with date at 3, with a very nice magnifying lens, all in black matt All markings and numbers are in SuperLumiNova green and, during poor light conditions the big applied indexes, the hands and the markings on the bezel light up with a very nice green color. The choice of this green is both functional and aesthetic. All those elements are oversize to give an immediate information in extreme conditions during dark or deep dives.
The caseback is also in full titanium and shows a Poseidon image. The crown is of generous size and with logo.
Price and opinionions
List price is 490 euro, very interesting if connected to the quality of the timepiece and the additional second band. Lorenz witnesses that its constant growth in the last few years, in terms of quality, materials and attention to the detail, is constant. I truly appreciated the ceramic bezel.
Final question: who is the customer of this watch? Indispensable for the professional divers it is a useful tool for the ricreational divers. For all the others is a good alternative on the daily use.
